קר׳
קוֹרְקְבָן, קָרְ׳m. (= קבקב׳; cmp. קוֹבַע, כּוֹבַע) the thick muscular stomach of birds, craw. Ḥull.III, 3. Ib. 6 (among the characteristics of clean birds) קוֹדְקְבָנוֹ נקלף whose craw peels easily; Tosef. ib. III (IV), 22; Ḥull.61a וקוּרְקְבָנָן נקלף (not וקורקבן); Yalk. Lev. 537 וקרקבנו (corr. acc.); a. fr.Pl. קָרְקְבָנִין (with sing. meaning). Tosef. l. c. 16 באלו … אמרו בק׳וכ׳ by these intestines are meant: the craw, the liver, and the heart. Sifra Vayiḳra, Ndabah, ch. VIII, Par. 7.In gen. stomach (= הֶמְסֵס). Ber.61b top ק׳ טוחן the stomach (of man) grinds. Sabb.152a (ref. to Koh. 12:4) בשביל ק׳ שאינו טוחן on account of the stomachs failing to grind.
